Human violence toward each other and other species is a recipe for disaster. Wet markets have all forms of transmission. The blood, the air, flesh eating. Covid is the virus but the disease is capitalism, which creates a hierarchy that some are more important than others. It did not take long for wet markets to reopen, including those in the USA, as they profit a few at the expense of many. Slaughterhouses are not essential, animal agriculture is not essential. Democracy for all, life before profit, is essential. Arts' very existence represents hope. It requires a viewer, if not of the present, then a future where there are viewers. Autocratic bullies and proto-fascists despise creativity, it represents the life of a mind they cannot control.
